Maggie Yankov has made Greenville, NC her home since 2002. She moved to Greenville from the Chicago area to be closer to her family in Edenton, NC. Maggie has had previous work experience in both teaching and marketing, and spent many years of her life as a Marine Corps wife living on both the East and West Coast and Hawaii. When her husband passed away on active duty in 1992, she decided to share her passage through grief in a professional capacity, which gradually drew her to the field of trauma and loss.
She received her B.Ed. degree in Psychology from The University of Hawaii, her M.S. degree in Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University, Evanston, Illinois, and her post-graduate certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago Center for Family Health, Chicago, Illinois. She is an Illinois Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, (#180-004432, Inactive).
Ms. Yankov holds a license as a NC Licensed Professional Counselor from the NC Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (#4044, Active), a National Board Certified Counselor and a National Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NBCC), a NC Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#991) and she is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Approved Clinical Supervisor .
Ms. Yankov began working with several colleagues in a larger practice in 2007, and opened Greenville Counselors in 2008.
